Technical Project Manager
Our voice technology is cool, but it's mostly invisible. That's why we take great care in surrounding our voice applications with elegant and intuitive web-based applications to make them tangible and usable. We are looking for an experienced Chicago-based Technical Project Manager who is enthusiastic about innovative enterprise communications solutions across voice, web and mobile channels; enjoys working in a dynamic, client-centric environment, and brings a fresh perspective to challenging technical projects.

As a Project Manager you will manage skilled technical teams to develop and deliver enterprise application solutions. We require PMs to work in agile environments to coordinate research, development, & dev-ops to quickly turn around solutions to the marketplace. The candidates we are looking for:

  • Have excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Have an ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Can coordinate multiple work streams to deliver products to the market
  • Can learn new technologies & tools and apply that knowledge to delivering products
  • Can balance both technical and soft skills to deliver multiple Telecom and Web Software Development projects quickly and effectively


What you can expect to be doing:

  • Manage the entire project development life cycle from requirements to deployment to ensure timely deliverables, project success, and quality
  • Effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders on status
  • Identify potential issues and risks and work collaboratively with multiple experts and teams to resolve them
  • Implement best practices and proven methodologies for managing projects
  • Actively learn and understand our proprietary voice technology so that projects can meet their objectives
  • Take a leadership role in empowering and motivating team members to do their best work
  • Manage internal and external customer relationships and expectations through negotiation and partnering
  • Document all project artifacts and ensure that they are complete, organized, and stored appropriately

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years experience managing projects in a technical environment as a Technical Project Manager or Lead Engineer
  • Strong written and verbal communications to effectively interact with technical and non-technical parties
  • Direct experience in agile practices such as Scrum, XP, or Lean
  • Experience in continuous integration and delivery methods with tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
  • Hands-on software development experience with the ability to identify inter-dependencies
  • Experience in directly interacting with internal and external customers
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to think strategically and exercise sound judgment when troubleshooting problems

Ideally you will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Telecom knowledge or work experience
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Project management experience as defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge
