Summary

SDI provides independent advisory consulting for local government clients implementing, maintaining, upgrading, and refining the Tyler Munis ERP application. The Tyler Munis Consultant is responsible for providing subject matter expertise around Munis functionality and configuration design to support SDI’s existing ERP project management approach. The Consultant ensures that SDI can provide an independent review of best practice configurations and approaches based on client business requirements. The Consultant will report to the Southern California Delivery Executive.

Responsibilities  

  • Analyze existing systems to ensure they offer adequate configuration support for client business requirements and functionality is effectively meeting the needs of the organization. Coordinate with all areas of the organization to see that the system is working as optimally as it should
  • Analyze business requirements to identify where they can integrate new hardware, operating systems, or connectivity solutions and document solution designs, including logical and physical designs, for enterprise solutions gathered from inputs by architects, engineers, and operators
  • Serve as the primary point person for the technical solution design
  • Recommend alternative configurations or improvements to enhance information systems to support organizational goals and present clearly and understandably to senior management
  • Lead the design and review processes for new systems
  • Develop and document the proposed technical design for the integration and implementation of any Tyler modules (e.g., Financial, HR, cashiering, etc.)
  • Document detailed Munis test scripts to assist with client testing
  • Create detailed plans for additional configuration tasks
  • Provide technical direction and support to delivery resources
  • Identify best practices and lessons learned
  • Provide feedback to senior leadership and incorporate this information into future integration plans
  • Coordinate Tyler Support’s delivery of fixes in connection with implementations
  • Lead environmental maintenance activities (refreshes, application of MIUs, etc.) related to implementation activities
  • Lead functional and technical design activities related to system customizations

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Tyler Munis implementation experience
  • Bachelors’ degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Must have experience with Munis configuration approaches
  • Strong technical understanding of migration and upgrade approaches
  • Working knowledge of current Munis components (i.e. financials, purchasing, contracting, payroll, HR; UB is desirable)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practices
  • Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction, and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues
