Regional Sales Director
The Team: Morningstar Investment Management (MIM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc, is a registered investment advisor (RIA) covering our investment advice, consulting, retirement-solutions, and indexes businesses. Within MIM, the Workplace Solutions team provides industry leading retirement services through our plan sponsor advice, custom models, managed accounts, and CIT offerings.
The Role: The Workplace Solutions team seeks a motivated Regional Sales Director to drive adoption and asset growth of our fiduciary services and participant driven solutions through retirement plan providers, wholesalers, advisors/consultants, plan sponsors, and participant meetings. As a Regional Sales Director, you will build and foster advisor and consultant relationships in an effort to promote our services across our plan provider base. Central to the success of this role will be to convey our investment philosophy, methodology, key differentiators, selling points, and overcome objections from advisors/consultants, plan sponsors, and plan participants. You will also be expected to develop a thorough understanding of the retirement space.
Responsibilities
+ Build and maintain strong advisor and consultant relationships directly and indirectly by working with through retirement plan provider relationships.
+ Develop and facilitate presentations that support the business`s strategic marketing messages and make a compelling case for introducing our services to a relationship.
+ Identify appropriate opportunities for client relationship expansion and the promotion of our participant driven solutions: managed accounts, custom target date, and CIT.
+ Partner with other field sales representatives and various functional groups across Morningstar, Inc and Morningstar Investment Management in order to develop creative solutions that meet client needs.
+ Monitor and provide feedback on client and competitive activities in the marketplace.
Requirements
+ 3-5 years of customer-facing sales experience within a(n) investment management/defined contribution/financial service environment.
+ Team-oriented professional with demonstrated abilities in negotiation and persuasion.
+ Superior written and oral communication skills.
+ Ambitious self-starter with the ability to generate strategic focus and follow through.
+ Advanced technical proficiencies in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
+ A bachelor`s degree is a minimum requirement; CFA/CFP/CIMA designations highly desirable.
+Approximately 50% of your time will be spent on travel.
