About Us: Dotdash Meredith is America’s largest digital and print publisher, reaching nearly 200 million people each month. Our Content Licensing team curates and licenses content from across Dotdash Meredith’s portfolio of 40+ brands for use by clients in their owned and operated digital and print environments. We combine our editorial expertise with data and insights from across Dotdash Meredith’s network to deliver top-quality, budget-friendly content solutions to power clients' websites, apps, marketing campaigns, social channels, and more.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Sales Development Representative to join our Content Licensing team. This role is pivotal in generating new leads and expanding our client base. You will be a key part of the sales and marketing team, helping to drive demand generation, and also informing how we go to market. The ideal candidate will be adept at prospecting, cold calling, and identifying potential partners interested in licensing content. You will be curious, a natural networker, and interested in learning the ins and outs of various industries in order to position our solutions in a compelling way.

This role is critical to the success of the Content Licensing team. Your success will drive and reflect the team’s success. We are looking for a highly-motivated, passionate, and resilient contributor. You will be supported by an incredible team, but should be willing and able to operate without hand-holding once trained. You should also be willing to test new strategies and tactics, and also be comfortable talking on a real telephone.

Travel to industry conferences and events will be an integral part of this role.

In-office Expectations: This position is fully remote with no in-office requirements, (might require coming into an office 1 or 2x a year). Remote, with hybrid options for NYC, Detroit, and Burlington, VT-based candidates.

About the Team:

This role reports to the Vice President of Content Licensing. The Content Licensing team is located in Burlington, VT. The team is a close-knit group working in a hybrid environment, sharing office space with the EatingWell brand. We are a small but mighty team, and have a strong culture where every person’s ideas and opinions are welcome and valued, regardless of title. A perk of being a small team is that we are often invited to wear extra “hats”--contributing to the team in ways that allow everyone to stretch their skills and learn new things. We are part of Foundry 360, Dotdash Meredith’s full-service content agency, with additional locations in NYC and Detroit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, research, and contact potential clients through various channels, including cold calling, emailing, and social media outreach.

  • Ability to develop strategic, targeted messaging that demonstrates knowledge of prospects’ businesses and industries.

  • Qualify leads based on predefined criteria to ensure alignment with our target customer profile.

  • Schedule appointments and demonstrations for the sales team.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales and outreach activities.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align strategies and optimize lead generation efforts.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments to effectively position our content licensing solutions.

  • Attend networking events and tradeshows to build relationships and generate leads.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

  • 3-5 years of experience in sales development or a related role, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to connect effectively through Zoom meetings.

  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to distill messaging into concise, efficient, and respectful communications.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience or knowledge from working in pharmaceutical, healthcare, and/or financial services industries, or agencies, is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel to conferences and events as required.
