Account Executive, GrouponLive
The GrouponLive team specializes in bringing concerts, dynamic live events and other mood-altering experiences to our subscribers. Account Executives for the LIVE team source these opportunities, and partner with event promoters, producers and publicists to properly populate places with people. But it’s more than that. Many of our best reps leverage related experience in live event sales and/or local merchant advertising, and craft experiences around each event so that it’s more than simply attendance. We hire sales professionals who are innovative, diligent, and who can demonstrate a capacity to craft a compelling experience for each event that aligns with the promoter’s business needs. Current or prior experience with online sales and advertising can be beneficial to an Account Executive’s success and fit within our team, but not required.
The position is based at our headquarters in Chicago, and our LIVE reps call on markets across North America.
General Responsibilities
Prospect, consult with, and close local venues and national promoters on compelling event choices for our subscribers.
Stay current with area and industry news to identify relevant activities to be featured, expanding the range of our LIVE event offers
Present GrouponLive as a platform for venues and promoters to utilize as a way of acquiring new customers, engaging them beyond just the event, as well as managing yield of open seating.
Utilize knowledge of deal structure and strategy in order to reach merchants’ desired outcomes and maximize profit
Requirements
2+ years of sales
Successful experience cold-calling into various types of businesses, understanding individual profit & loss dynamics, and articulating a value proposition
Affinity and knowledge of the market for live events – sports, concerts, arts & theater and/or family – strongly preferred
Demonstrate high degrees of diligence and accountability, with evidence of personal results
Comfortable in a competitive environment, with evidence of personal ambition to improve
Abnormally strong negotiation and consultation skills
