Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfill our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses by connecting people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services, experiences and goods. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. If you want to take more ownership of your career, then you're ready to be part of Groupon.

Groupon Goods, the retail arm of our business, is a one-stop daily shop for brand-name essentials and unexpected, one-of-a-kind finds. For our merchants, this means massive exposure, smart promotion, and reliable fulfillment. For our customers, this means great deals on a variety of products ranging from electronics to clothing, home goods to beauty.

As an Associate Buyer on the Goods team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and nurturing our vendor relationships to decide all of the details around the products that go on our site. You'll use your retail knowledge to fuel the growth of Goods by sourcing in-demand and creative products that our customers will love. You'll work with internal partners and vendors within the home improvement category to provide a customizable way for brands to connect with a potentially new customer base. And while our Associate Buyers use acumen and consumer-products expertise of traditional buyers, our online focus in today's retail environment is what sets us apart.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of passionate about helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a great way to grow your career? Let's get into the details.

Responsibilities:

  • You will source and solidify premier brand relationships in order to curate products that consumers will love

  • You will handle vendor data in lead management system (Salesforce)

  • Generate reports to analyze item performance against previous years or competitors

  • Research product landscape to keep current with industry trends and pricing dynamics in the consumer-product-goods space

  • Assist in handling the category selection with the goal of optimizing sales and the customer experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 1-3+ years of experience in online retailing, retail buying, retail category management, or merchandising

  • You are ambitious in your desire to progress your career within the merchandising or buying industry

  • You have impeccable business insight and acumen

  • You have a track record of successful relationship management, meticulous attention to detail and delivering results while juggling multiple projects

  • You have experience generating reporting and analysis

  • You have an uncanny ability to focus in a whirlwind of change, even when that includes a bit of karaoke

  • You take an entrepreneurial approach to task management and have the ability to take control and handle tasks independently

Groupon provides a global marketplace where people can buy just about anything, anywhere, anytime. We’re enabling real-time commerce across an expanding range of categories including local businesses, travel destinations, consumer products, and live or lively events. At the same time, we are providing advertising options and tools that merchants can use to grow and manage their businesses. Culturally, we believe that great people make great companies and that starting with the customer and working backward moves us forward. Community matters to us on an internal, local and global scale—it’s fundamental to our company’s growth and to the well-being of the world at large. We also value self-awareness, candor, lunch and WiFi. If we match with you, please apply to join us.
