Business Development Executive, Arts & Culture

We're looking for a Business Development Executive to build relationships with new and existing customers while selling our design and development services, digital transformation initiatives, and Adage products. You’ll focus on the Arts, Culture, and Entertainment vertical, consulting with some of the world’s premier theatres, orchestras, museums, and cultural institutions. As a Business Development Executive, you will develop partnerships across matrixed client teams to help their organizations find solutions for complex business and technical challenges.
You will thoroughly research potential customers, initiate contact, then drive proposals, presentations, and sales opportunities forward with qualified leads. You will have targeted account lists and partner referrals to work from, as well as Adage's strong reputation to back you. You'll promote and position Adage as a strategic partner, clearly articulating our innovative offerings and value proposition throughout a 3-9 month sales cycle. Your success will help Adage continue to grow and hit our goals of 15% YOY growth.

What you'll do:
- Research organizations and individuals to find new business development opportunities
- Contact potential clients and partners to establish rapport and arrange meetings
- Use consultative methods to understand prospect needs and ensure alignment from a variety of stakeholders
- Collaborate with Adage design, development, and project delivery teams to propose solutions that help achieve client goals
- Develop proposals and presentations for prospect executives spanning technology, marketing, and operations departments
- Represent Adage's arts and culture vertical expertise to industry-leading organizations
- Close sales solutions averaging more than $250,000 to upwards of $1m
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong understanding and passion for digital web and commerce technologies
- 5+ years of experience in a sales or related role, with at least two years selling digital web design and development services preferred
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, arts administration, or related field preferred
- Strong consultative problem-solving skills
- Polished presentation skills and the ability to build rapport with executive stakeholders
- Experience in museum or arts administration or sales at a digital agency a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage contacts through a long sales cycle
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
