The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for seeking out, initiating and obtaining new clients for our Professional Services business unit. Working closely with the practice leaders and consultants, the BDM will oversee business development initiatives from the demand generation phase to lead qualification all the way through opportunity identification and the contract phase. The BDM will work with the Professional Services business unit to develop lead generation campaigns, initiate and build relationships with prospective clients and cultivate and pursue qualified opportunities for the team’s core service offerings. As the BDM, you will be responsible for sourcing, starting, qualifying, closing and developing new strategic client relationships to accelerate and expand GrowthPlay’s reach and impact in the markets we serve.    

Job Duties 

  • Seek out, research, nurture, and qualify new prospective clients who fit within GrowthPlay’s Professional Services client profiles and target industries 
  • Work with the marketing and delivery team experts to coordinate and collaborate on demand generation campaigns and lead generation initiatives 
  • Manage and develop net-new opportunity pipeline by cultivating both professional and informal networks through networking, event attendance and other activities that may require travel 
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of the client's strategic agenda and the issues facing them and be able to demonstrate how our core coaching, training and playbook offerings can make a positive business impact on the client 
  • Effectively respond to objections or questions to remove obstacles in the sales process to shepherd an opportunity to completion 
  • Nurture leads and prospects, leading to closed sales by being a living example of GrowthPlay’s selling methodology and a walking audition of the GrowthPlay client experience 
  • Lead pitches, including preparing and coordinating with the appropriate delivery team or solution architects as needed 
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals to prospective clients 
  • Manage the contract negotiation process and ensure that required documentation is in place with new clients 
  • Produce business development and pipeline reports and use this information to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business development close rates and strategies 
  • Collaborate with the delivery and account management team members to elevate a client’s experience from day one 

Requirements

  • 3-7 years in a sales role or new business development role 
  • 3+ years in a business development/sales role within the professional services market segments, particularly legal, insurance and accounting sectors, with a demonstrated understanding of emerging business trends that relate to sales within these fields  
  • Experience using Pardot and Salesforce.com 
  • Intermediate to Expert proficiency in PowerPoint 
  • BS/BA or equivalent experience  
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills 
  • Strong ability to develop impactful, other-centered relationships that add value 
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals  
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaming and collaboration with a commitment to going above and beyond
