What we need
Are you either a recent grad or experienced professional ready and eager to dive into the sales world? Well, look no further! We are seeking highly motivated, ambitious BDRs that are looking to grow their career at an exciting software company. This position will focus on the hunt - high-volume prospecting, calling, and qualifying the leads will be your main responsibility. You'll be expected to:
A day in the life:

  • Meet/exceed daily call volume (45) and email volume (30)
  • Develop information on law firm contacts using web searches and social media
  • Schedule new business demos with qualified leads
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of Smokeball software


What you bring

  • A hunger to learn the sales industry; prior cold-calling experience (preferred, but not required); and knowledge of the legal field is a plus
  • Energetic and self-motivated with the ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Highly dependable with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand, develop, and communicate technical information to non-technical users
  • Willingness to learn new skills and have an interest in building a career in software sales
  • Ability and motivation to learn and expand own skills and expertise

As I think through this question, I would have to say the people because everything comes back to them and the culture. It's rare you find a company who is invested in helping you grow in your career and notices hard work when they see it. I can truly say Smokeball cares about all employees, and it really makes coming to work every day enjoyable. Outside of work, if you need to find me, I am either at Wrigley Field or on the golf course. Sports have always been a huge part of my life and I still try to stay as active as possible. I also love spending time with my Fiancé, Tess, and our dog, Millie.

Emma: Hi, I'm Emma! I have been at Smokeball for 1 year. Not only is it rewarding to work for a company with a product that talks for itself in the realm of best in its class, but the community also does the exact same. The people and culture at Smokeball create an atmosphere of encouragement, comfortability, and growth that anyone would be lucky to be a part of. More specifically, being in sales it's common for tensions to run high and the environment can hit stressful levels. At Smokeball and within the sales team, the support and encouragement seen throughout the team to do your absolute best is unmatched and makes it easy to reach high potential. The "team" perspective goes beyond meeting a certain number at the end of the month, quarter, year, etc. Outside of work, I find myself around food quite often. Going out to eat with friends and trying new restaurants throughout Chicago has become a common occurrence for me. Sticking to the food category, I love to cook. I am constantly trying new recipes and challenging myself in the kitchen. It is one of my favorite hobbies and I find it incredibly relaxing which others could argue. On top of that, taking my dog to the park is another favorite activity of mine.
Jessica: Hi, I'm Jessica! I have been at Smokeball for 5.5 years. I love the way Smokeball treats their team members and our clients. Our leadership continuously makes our work-life fun and comfortable - like in our outings/activities (online and in-person), benefits and other perks, like working from home and DEI education.
