Position:  

As a Business Development Representative, you will be a pioneer and a go-getter, seeking out new initiatives and clientele that are a perfect partnership for Root. As an active networker, you’ll be able to charm potential partners by phone, email, in person, on the streets, or by Morse code. You’ll be comfortable being scrappy, uncovering innovative and creative ways to build new relationships across the business spectrum.

You love the thrill of the chase, the desire to push boundaries and try new ideas, taking meaningful and measured risks to create long-lasting, significant relationships, while working closely with our awesome team of product engineers to build out our SaaS enterprise.

Reports to: General Manager of Enterprise

Onsite and full-time only

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to innovatively research new partners and identify unique opportunities pertaining to the growth of Root’s SaaS Product
  • Secure new partnerships via numerous outbound communication methods
  • Effectively track and summarize pipeline movement to appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain good relationships during the BD process, maintaining regular, pertinent, and helpful contact with the prospect throughout the process to close
  • Utilize savviness and versatility to effectively execute unique plans of attack when prospecting and creating partnerships
  • Support General Manager of Enterprise in any and all business needs

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of proven relevant experience
  • Skilled in new business development, including identifying key players in the market and effective outbound outreach
  • Confidence in dealing with partners and clients at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent internal and external rapport builder/people skills, establishing strong relationships
  • Good understanding of Software as a Service (SaaS) products
  • Familiarity with using CRM software
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative startup environment
  • Passionate, self-motivated, tenacious, and driven
