Your Role

The Business Development Rep plays a critical role in the growth of Otus. This position focuses almost exclusively on growing new sales through outbound lead generation efforts with the goal being to generate meetings and meaningful discussions with prospects.  

 

Responsibilities

Enterprise Sales

  • Develop and advance a sales pipeline to consistently exceed sales goals.
  • Forecast sales accurately in assigned territory.
  • Deliver exceptional online and onsite product presentations to both small and large groups.
  • Stay current on competing resources in the market and recognize sales opportunities
  • Engage potential clients in meaningful discussions regarding their district/school goals and how Otus’ offerings can best support these goals.
  • Sell our solutions with a consultative approach in a variety of educational environments.
  • Travel up to 20% as needed and defined by the territory. Flexibility to travel around the territory via car or air is necessary but is not common.
     

Qualifications

  • Sales professional with 3+ years of experience in lead generation.
  • Enterprise sales experience is preferred and K-12 teaching and administrative experience is a definite bonus. We love teachers!
  • Consultative business to business sales experience.
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities for your assigned sales reps.
  • Collaboration skills are key in this role as the employee will work actively with the Regional Sales Managers and Business Development team to create smart and effective campaigns and content for our target audience.
  • Strong organizational, technical, and data skills are required. Employee must be proficient on the Google platform and also have strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Our market is large and we are actively reaching out to it every day. Because of this, the employee must be able to manage and move large amounts of data into and out of sales enablement tools that the company uses. 
  • Meet and identify potential clients by leveraging your growing knowledge and experience in your new market.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. 
  • Use a variety of styles to persuade prospects to agree to meet with the company to review our solution(s).
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
