What you'll do:

The Corporate Development Associate will be part of the Corporate Development group and will work across the Corporate Development, Business Ventures, Legal, Finance and Product Teams. The Corporate Development Associate will be focused on supporting Uptake’s mergers and acquisitions efforts, strategic partnerships and product portfolio by enabling business development, value assessment, pricing strategy and competitive intelligence efforts. You will support multiple projects simultaneously, should be highly self-motivated, and must enjoy solving really hard problems. This is a highly visible role and critical to our success. You’ll have the opportunity to grow rapidly in this role and gain senior executive exposure.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pricing and product packaging efforts
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define value proposition across product categories
  • Build financial models to assess the strategic value of new opportunities
  • Professionally challenge cross-functional teams to substantiate and defend investments to ensure appropriate allocation of resources
  • Support drafting partnership proposals
  • Support the executive team on aspects of business development, which include research, analysis and creation of pitch, marketing and commercialization materials
  • Perform research on industry and competitive trends
  • Continually monitor industry dynamics, such as shifting market trends and customer behaviors to anticipate business opportunities
  • Analyze proposed restructuring and acquisition and assess the tax consequences of specific transactions
  • Conduct and execute post merger scaleout

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3 to 6 years of relevant work experience, preferably in strategy consulting, venture capital, technology-focused corporate development and strategy, due diligence–focused management consulting or technology-focused investment banking
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability, along with excellent business judgment
  • Experience doing industry research, completing competitive landscaping and comparisons, and building presentations
  • Experience interacting with senior audiences and executives
  • Strong project management skills, including a proven ability to think through all aspects of the process, manage long-term projects and multitask
  • Driven self-starter with a passion for excellence and an ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Superb interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships successfully across teams

Preferred:

  • Experience pricing products (SaaS product pricing preferred)

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
