Team
ServiceNow is currently seeking a highly driven sales-centric Deal Desk Manager to join our Geo Deal Desk team. This team is responsible for actively working with product and services sales, delivery, legal, revenue and other cross functional teams to orchestrate, develop and deliver compliant, cohesive and compelling professional services, training and customer success deals.
Role
This individual contributor role is supporting the introduction and sales of new products and services across Geo. Initially focusing on supporting key sales cycles in target customer segments, as well as taking a lead role in developing and documenting deal best practices, and scaling supporting deal processes to evolve to business-as-usual. In addition, liaising with and providing feedback to NPI, product and other cross-functional teams on introduced products and services.
What you get to do in this role:
- Be a trusted advisor to the Sales team, collaborating on qualifying, scoping, sizing, positioning, pricing, product, legal and commercial terms for complex, non-standard transactions that include Success, Implementation and Advisory engagements.
- Work closely with various cross-functional teams such as Product and Services Sales, Customer Success, Delivery, Legal, Finance, Sales Operations to facilitate the deals process, including deal approvals.
- Define the plan, outline, and timetable to deliver a response aligned to customer scope & functional, business, technical, legal, and financial requirements.
- Manage deliverable creation and review across multiple projects simultaneously and within deadlines, while in compliance with ServiceNow business and legal policies and practices.
- Compose business and technical content that effectively communicates the scope and value of our services in relation to the customer’s requirements and business objectives.
- Apply accounting principles to draft and review contract language and deal structures to ensure revenue recognition treatment will be most advantageous to the company.
- Ensure that resolution of customer satisfaction issues is acceptable under company policies.
- Prepare and lead Deal Review meetings for large, complex and non-standard proposals / SOWs and manage updates as applicable.
- Collaborate to review and update deal processes, procedures, standards and tools, and share best practices across Global Deal Management teams.
- Communicate and enable cross-functional organizations on deal best practices, policies, and processes & procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of submitted documents as well as drafts, approvals, and other supporting documents.

In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:
- 3+ years of experience in a deal desk, finance, contracts, sales operations, or revenue accounting role; Software/SaaS and Professional services experience are an advantage.
- BS, MBA Business Administration, or CPA.
- Experience producing Proposals and SOWs for high-value contracts for professional services and Customer Success.
- An understanding of revenue recognition accounting principles and US GAAP.
- Strong analytical and effective decision-making abilities coupled with critical thinking.
- A thorough understanding of the sales process, sales lifecycle/stages and related outcomes, and the ability to navigate and progress long, complex sales cycles.
- Adept at business partnering and working with cross functional teams, building meaningful business relationships along the way
- Excellent organization and time management skills to oversee simultaneously occurring deals, tasks, and deadlines in a fast-paced team-oriented sales environment.
- Strong business acumen with excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
- The ability to comprehend, communicate and cohesively organize complex business, technical and legal concepts, information and materials.
- The ability to read, interpret, and draft business terms and conditions, with excellent writing, copy-editing, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style skills.
- The capability of working independently and in collaboration with remote resources to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods
- Expert knowledge of office productivity, word-processing and various other computer-based or online website proposal software. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
