Director of Inside Sales
Narrative Science is looking for a Director of Inside Sales to build out a team in our Chicago office. In this role, you will drive revenue by leading a team of sales representatives focused on marketing and selling into the commercial market segment. As a successful candidate, you’ll be motivated to have a high impact on the company, our team and our customers. 

Responsibilities

  • Build a great team by hiring, training, onboarding, motivating and enabling inside sales representatives
  • Collaborate with leaders across the company, particularly in marketing, sales and customer success to ensure alignment and success
  • Develop and implement best practices to maximize pipeline creation, customer conversion rates, forecasting accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Measure and track day to day activities through the identification, tracking, understanding and utilization of key performance indicators. Identify issues when needed and course correct in order to drive results
  • Facilitate new processes, tools, communications, training and methodologies to optimize team performance
  • Oversee resource planning, reporting, territories, incentives and communications for the team
  • Develop thorough understanding of Narrative Science’s product offerings and the value they bring to our customers

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of sales experience with a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success as a leader selling solutions into the commercial market customer segment
  • A solid understanding of inside sales processes and best practices within the SaaS and Cloud software industry
  • Exceptional business acumen with the ability to effectively problem solve
  • Strong operations leadership background with experience in building an inside sales function
  • A proven track record for delivering results and impacting an organization
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and interact regularly with all levels
  • Desire to be part of a team that is building and selling a groundbreaking technology
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Expert knowledge of Salesforce
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Prior experience working for a fast growing startup environment is a plus
  • Ability to travel when needed

Location

We became a distributed workforce in March 2020 as a result of Covid-19 and will remain distributed moving forward. Our Chicago HQ still remains but we want our team to have flexibility around when and where they work.
