TU is searching for a Director, Sales Incentive Compensation for a newly created position based in Chicago, IL.  As a senior member of the Sales Strategy and Optimization team, you have room to turn your innovative ideas into effective solutions for transforming and empowering how we compensate and motivate our sales professionals in alignment with our corporate objectives and initiatives.

 

The Director will be responsible for leading the strategy, design, governance, administration, automation, and harmonization of TU’s global sales compensation plans for commissionable sales roles across our business units. You will partner closely with the domestic HR and Finance business partner communities, business unit leaders, field leadership teams and other functional executives.  You will analyze market intelligence studies for sales compensation plan design, policy definition and alignment with sales career bands and role levels.  

 

You will also lead the effort to fully operationalize sales incentive compensation, including integration with Salesforce.com and other applicable back-end systems.  You will conduct sales performance analytics and dashboard reporting to enable executive management to adjust sales incentives to meet company goals.   

 

 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • Partner with Sales, HR, Finance, and Legal  leadership on designing, implementing, governing, and managing the sales incentive compensation program
  • Establish relationships with senior executives in various business units and customer segments to understand complex business drivers and interactions
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions
  • Works effectively with staff to executive level associates within the function, across functions and business units, and with external parties
  • Lead with limited supervision and direction, drive results and set priorities independently
  • Identify business and process issues, translate them into business requirements and data metrics, evaluate solutions, and roll out system launches and integration
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes by forming the correlation between business strategies and drivers and technology capabilities
  • Perform various financial analyses on investment plans and proposed changes to aid management in making informed decisions
  • Develop implementation and change management plans

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined measurement criteria  

 

What we would love to see:

Education / Experience 

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree, or equivalent experience is required, graduate degree is desired.
  • 5+ plus years of sales compensation experience as an individual contributor; a minimum of 2 years as manager / director in sales comp design and administration
  • Experience with sales compensation automation tools like Callidus, Varicent / IBM, and Xactly.
  • Experience in leading and conducting requirements gathering sessions
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
