Do you love to develop amazing sales people? Because that's what we do.

Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfill our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses by connecting people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services, experiences and goods. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. If you want to take more ownership of your career, then you're ready to be part of Groupon.

We know sales is the backbone of business. That's why training our teams is a top priority. Our sales teams focus on building partnerships with Groupon merchants, and we spend our days showing them how. Plenty of companies offer sales “training” but Groupon offers professional sales development. Our trainers teach core selling principles in our GroupOnboarding program (GOB) and then accelerate the professional training of our teams in Groupon Sales University. We know what makes an outstanding salesperson and we provide our teams with the path to becoming one.

As our Director of Sales Training, you’ll be dedicated to driving training and development initiatives within our sales organization. As Groupon continues to scale and our industry matures, we seek an elite training leader to craft and deploy programs that support hundreds of sales professionals in an ever-evolving landscape. Our dream is to build Groupon into a best-in-class training environment where sales talent wants to come to become premier sales talent. As the Director of Sales Training, you will be critical to achieving this objective.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a significant impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Lead Onboarding, Continued Education and Leadership Development teams

  • Drive impactful change to both Groupon Onboarding (GOB) and Groupon Sales University sales development programs

  • You will align all training initiatives with relevant sales metrics

  • Ensure both compliance and dedication to our sales process at all levels of sales representatives

  • You will develop a process that continuously improves the knowledge, capability, and development of key talent

  • Facilitate individual and team talent assessments, building and improving upon a variety of tools to identify and groom future sales leaders

  • Develop a sales call monitoring and QA/ calibration function

  • Improve the following metrics: Ramp up time of new sales employees, sales efficiency, employee retention, and overall training ROE/ROI

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA, Master’s degree, or advanced degree preferred, ideally in industrial/organizational psychology

  • 15+ years of dynamic experience, with 3+ years in a sales training/development leadership role

  • You have a prior track record of success in a sales organization

  • You have strong organizational skills, with evidence of successfully running concurrent projects

  • You have a passion for training and the learning environments that you create; you're committed to the success of others

  • You are a self-starter who can execute in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction

  • You have a deep understanding of current sales learning and development trends

  • You have envious written, verbal, and social skills

  • You do whatever it takes to get it done and not scared to take a hands-on approach

  • You have experience rolling out programs to a global audience (a plus, not required)

Groupon provides a global marketplace where people can buy just about anything, anywhere, anytime. We’re enabling real-time commerce across an expanding range of categories including local businesses, travel destinations, consumer products, and live or lively events. At the same time, we are providing advertising options and tools that merchants can use to grow and manage their businesses. Culturally, we believe that great people make great companies and that starting with the customer and working backward moves us forward. Community matters to us on an internal, local and global scale—it’s fundamental to our company’s growth and to the well-being of the world at large. We also value self-awareness, candor, lunch and WiFi. If we match with you, please apply to join us.
