Are you looking to manage a team and make a real difference for educators across the country? There’s nothing more gratifying than providing a product that truly helps educators impact student learning. Mastery Manager is the web-based assessment tool that provides teacher’s immediate insight into their students’ standards-aligned learning progress in real time. We’re looking for a highly-skilled player/coach Director of Sales to contribute personally to the sales effort in their own territory and ultimately build a sales team to aggressively expand our market share.  

The Director of Sales is responsible for the sales pipeline and performance of Mastery Manager nationwide. The position reports directly to the President of the company and has the autonomy to grow and manage the sales team. You will be accountable for managing the sales team and closing enterprise-level deals across the country, in addition to personally prospecting and presenting to school administrators and decision makers.
 

What you’ll do

  • Build and manage the sales team
  • Manage the complete sales process from prospect to close; including cold calling, qualifying prospects, conducting a needs analysis, demonstrating our solution based on the needs of the school or district, preparing proposals and sales contracts
  • Consistently meet/exceed sales quota
  • Keep abreast of competitors’ activities and initiatives and customer trends
  • Immerse yourself in the education technology landscape and product knowledge, and contribute to Mastery Manager’s strategic growth
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Training teams
  • Travel as needed to assist sales associates in the field with, territory management, on-site demonstrations, trade shows, etc.
     

Experience and qualifications you’ll need to succeed

  • Ability to sell in a highly consultative, solutions-based, non-pressure manner
  • Demonstrable success in managing a sales territory or sales team
  • Minimum of 5 years in Enterprise software sales with experience in SaaS preferred
  • Experience with lead generation and outbound sales
  • Experience in the education market helpful, but not required
  • Ability to succeed within a longer sales cycle: prospecting, building pipelines, maintaining contact and closing business
  • Resourceful and diligent in maintaining CRM data. If it’s not in our CRM, it never happened
  • Competitive drive to beat targets, positive attitude and incredible work ethic
  • Top-notch communication, articulation and presentation skills
  • Set a high bar for team members to meet and exceed
  • 4-year college degree (BA/BS)
