Department Overview
Motorola Solutions is a world leader in the field of professional mobile communications systems with an impressive heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. This Department is responsible for selling Motorola Solutions public safety applications to city, county and state agencies within the assigned territory.
Job Description

Motorola Solutions is looking for a motivated and experienced technical sales professional who understands the unique approach to selling our company's public safety solutions to new and existing customers. Key objectives will be working with account teams, and/or directly with customers to develop new opportunities as well as leverage our establichsed positions of incumbency to expand and grow our non-core portfolio. Non core growth emphasis is including but not limited to Broadband LTE (Nitro), Video Solutions and Software Enterprise Business by creating new integrated approaches to leveraging the power of our expanded portfolio.

Customer relationships are developed directly with customers through phone contact, personal visits, attending regional user group meetings, and working directly with the direct account team. Sales responsibilities will cover all state, local, tribal, and education accounts (K-12 and Higher Education) in the T6 region (Texas and Oklahoma). Selling opportunities include on-site product presentations, internet demonstrations, and coordinating with customers on individual and multi-jurisdictional projects. The Sr. Account Manager (Integrated Portfolio Solutions) will be responsible but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Attend scheduled training programs and other sales skills development opportunities

  • Understanding of local government procurement processes 

  • Assist with the participation of conferences as assigned

  • Stay informed about new products, services, and other information of interest to the company, as well as prospective and existing customers

  • Familiar with key competitor activities, products, and service as they compare to Motorola Solutions expanded product and services offerings

  • Coordinate, prepare, and conduct product demonstrations. Perform other job-related activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned

  • Knowledge in wireless telecommunications technologies; especially 4G LTE / Private LTE / 5G CBRS, and their use for broadband data, video solutions, Internet of Things (IoT), secure cloud connection, and world class voice communications

  • Provide technical consulting at customer engagement meetings

  • Generate new sales opportunities for the team while fostering a trusting relationship with customers and delivering business value

  • Work cross-functionally across engineering, operations, internal sales teams, and external business partners to deliver highly scalable and reliable customer experience services and products

  • Leverage position of account emcombency to grow non core business

  • Ability to generate new solution sales by working closely with other parts of the Motorola Solutions family

  • Research, understand and analyze the current market trends in wireless telecommunications products and services and network-enable IT products and services including market segmentation analysis

  • Create and maintain an annual territory sales plan for expansion products

  • Regular upkeep of CRM activities and accurate forecasting is a fundamental job requirement

  • Supporting customers in Texas and Oklahoma

Specific Knowledge/Skils:

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred

  • 4+ years of experience in sales, technical consulting, solution development, and business operations

  • Typically travel is moderate, typically being in territory (in front of the customer) 40-50%

  • Knowledge of wireless technologies, products and services is required. Knowledge of one or more relevant technical subject areas, such as private networks, Video Solutions, network security, managed services, As a Service or cloud-based offerings, is highly desirable

  • Knowledge of wireless telecommunications and networking standards and frameworks

  • Relevant work experience in the areas of wireless telecommunications employed by telecommunications service providers or equipment manufacturers is highly desirable.

  • Technical expertise and experience in LMR, LTE, 5G, WiFi, and CBRS

  • Experience managing sales and marketing team projects and operations preferred

  • Account management and /or technical business consulting experience is highly preferred 


Basic Requirements

Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of sales/public safety experience OR 8+ years of sales/public safety experience
