The Field Training Specialist supports the departmental vision and development of the training materials, digital learning tools and videos focused on skills to strengthen the competencies of our field of Independent Consultants. He/She will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing and implementing new and existing sales training programs. This position will partner closely with the Field Training and Development Manager, Instructional Designers, Department Business Owners and Field. This position reports directly to the Field Training and Development Manager.

The Team:

Our team creates, maintains, and evaluates training programs and resources that our independent sales consultants use every day. We examine what works, what doesn’t, and strive to provide the best possible experience for our consultants and customers.

The Field Training team is focused on enabling consultants to learn the key business and selling skills to build their Pampered Chef business. This team will collaborate with the Marketing, Field Success, Field Advocacy and Technology teams to develop and deploy meaningful training and development programs that drive results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts needs assessment through field research and surveys and analyzes gaps in skill and current training courses, videos and programs.
  • Consults and collaborates with coworkers and field to analyze training needs and identify learning
  • objectives that take into consideration such things as business objectives and audience needs.
  • Designs and develops training content (including participant guides, facilitator guides and job aids) using instructional design best practices. Leverages active learning strategies for adult learners that address diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Partners with Instructional Designers on appropriate instructional strategies and delivery method and provides them content through documentation of best practices and script writing.
  • Collaborates and coaches field subject matter experts to co-create peer to peer training content.
  • Coordinates and reviews training content with subject matter experts, marketing, product, or other content experts as appropriate.
  • Manage the administration of Field facing training programs and curriculum.

  • Effective communicator, strong relationship building skills and proven record for cross-functional partnerships.
  • The ability to work independently, take initiative and shepherd tasks to completion.
  • Strong organizational, time management and project management skills required.
  • Thrives in an environment that is fast paced- rapidly changing, service oriented and collaborative
  • Strong oral and written communications skills are essential.
  • High level of proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Measures of Success:

  • 2019 National Conference Experience.
  • Adoption rate of new performance and engagement system.
  • New Product Vitality Index.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in learning, training and development of people.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in sales.
  • Familiar with adult learning theories and content development.
  • Understanding and knowledge of sales strategy and sales force effectiveness.
  • A successful track record in supporting the development and execution of field facing learning and/or sales initiatives.
  • A successful track record gathering and synthesizing content from Subject Matter Experts.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in Direct Selling preferred
