Home Chef is looking for a Jr Category Buyer for its Non Food Supply Chain team at its corporate headquarters in Chicago.

The Jr Category Buyer would report to the Sr Category Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Use supply plan, issue orders and biweekly forecasts, and set delivery schedule
• Follow up on purchase orders and ensure timely delivery to Home Chef facilities
• Update orders on ERP system as required
• Update internal tools like PO tracker and other tools that get created
• Manage existing supplier relationships and contact at a transactional level
• Work cross-functionally with production, quality assurance, food buyers and warehouse teams

Skill Set and Experience

• Highly autonomous and proactive
• Excellent process management
• Strong verbal and written communicator and negotiator
• Procurement experience preferred but not required
• Mastery of spreadsheet usage (excel, google sheets)
• Strong ability to multi-task and flexibly switch between tasks
• Strong sense for numbers in a business context e.g., prices, spend
• Willingness to travel to suppliers if required (
