We're excited to share that financial services startup, Affirm is setting up shop in Chicago's River North neighborhood! This office will provide us with a much needed midwest outpost for our Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Product teams. We’re looking for a Sales Manager to join Affirm’s go-to-market team and lead the sales efforts of our Mid Market business. In this role, you will be responsible for building a team of high performing Account Executive's who will create relationships with high-growth companies, identify and develop the appropriate Affirm solution these companies need to address their strategic growth initiatives, and ultimately, bring these companies onboard as official Affirm partners. Our sales team takes a consultative approach, helping our clients maneuver in the ever-changing, fast-paced digital landscape.

In this capacity, this person will manage a Mid Market Sales team that focuses on generating new partnerships that will ultimately have a major strategic impact on the long-term success of the organization. Given the mid-market AE position is often comprised of first time salespeople, as the manager of the Mid Market team, this person will also be responsible for coaching and developing future sales leaders of Affirm.

What You'll Do

  • Hire and manage a team of Mid Market Account Executives
  • Drive revenue and market share across the Mid Market portfolio of merchant accounts
  • Develop and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Mid Market Account Executives
  • Create & articulate compelling value propositions around Affirm solution
  • Prepare a variety of status reports, including weekly forecasts, sales activity metrics, signed deals, and adherence to Affirm’s overall sales goals
  • Manage team pipeline and follow through with presentations, proposals and contracts
  • Work cross functionally with a variety of internal stakeholders on various strategic and administrative tasks

What We Look For

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience on high performing sales teams as a seller; 1+ year management experience
  • Experience with e-commerce, and/or payments is a plus
  • Strong strategic sales, research, analysis, presentation and negotiation skills
  • High emotional IQ with strong drive to coach others to success
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships both internally and with external decision makers
  • Willingness and desire to take on greater responsibilities in order to effectively contribute to Affirm’s overall growth
