The team
Our Sales & Business Development teams collaborate with customers and partners across the globe to help them leverage the DocuSign Agreement Cloud to transform how the entire system of agreement process—from preparing to signing, acting on, and managing contracts and other types of agreements. Our teams partner with some of the largest most innovative companies in the world in dozens of industries to bring the power of DocuSign to more customers. Whether you are selling to a small business or a large enterprise, you will apply your extensive knowledge of our solutions, and leverage our strategic partnerships to help our customers grow their top and bottom line.

This position

As a Market Development Representative (MDR) you will work with Account Executives to develop a territory strategy and will “cold prospect” into the territory to generate qualified sales opportunities for the Account Executive to further qualify, negotiate, and close. The MDR qualifies prospective customers through targeted questions about their business strategy and challenges, then leverages this information to align and position DocuSign’s product offerings. You will be responsible for daily sales activities and monthly/quarterly quotas. MDRs receive significant hands-on training with an emphasis on strategic selling methodology, learning how to understand account interest/need, and developing prospecting strategies. The MDR position is a great way to gain in-depth sales experience in a rapidly growing SaaS company, and we are committed to enabling our employees with a career platform that fosters growth.

This position is an individual contributor and reports to a Market Development Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively “cold prospect” through multiple mediums (email, calls, etc.)
  • Generate qualified sales opportunities for Account Executives to further qualify, negotiate, and close
  • Collaborate with sales team members to penetrate targeted accounts with innovative and strategic approaches
  • Efficiently use Salesforce and other tools to research accounts, identify key contacts and reach out to prospective customers
  • Effectively develop strong professional relationships across the Sales Departments

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent sales related experience
  • CRM experience
  • Motivation, drive and self-starting attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
  • Ability to understand and qualify prospects
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take initiative and manage time effectively
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior prospecting and/or inside sales experience
  • Experience with salesforce.com
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience being held to metrics, quota
