Are you passionate about the travel industry? Are you motivated by the thrill of working in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment?

Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfill our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses by connecting people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services, experiences and goods. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. If you want to take more ownership of your career, then you're ready to be part of Groupon.

The Getaways team at Groupon focuses on one of the most dynamic industries there is - travel. But we're not your typical travel platform. We work to create packages that delight both hoteliers and Groupon subscribers alike. We build relationships big and small, working with large hotel chains to boutique Bed & Breakfasts, crafting every deal by listening to the needs of the business. Our obsession is putting together offerings that will delight our customers and help them make life less boring.

As a Market Manager, you will focus on increasing revenue and developing positive relationships with hotels in assigned markets. We partner with other teams to handle these relationships post-close - leading a seamless transition and all activities related to onboarding, launching, and running hotel deals on our platform. Whether you're optimizing a live deal for a hotel partner that we've worked with for years, or negotiating changes to maximize revenue, you'll be the point of contact for our existing Getaways merchants.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

Responsibilities:

  • You will assist the Getaways Sales Team with hotel partnerships, partnering during presale, onboarding, launch, and through deal sale period

  • Establish, maintain, and negotiate supplier relationships with hotel properties

  • Secure and negotiate competitive rates and inventory to meet targets and metrics including peak periods

  • Develop familiarity with each partner’s business, including but not limited to: products and/or services, consumer demographics, consumer ratings, points of competitive differentiation, economic model, and revenue and profit drivers as it relates to driving occupancy

  • Support hotel suppliers in onboarding, setup, rate and inventory revisions, and training on use of merchant platform

  • Craft and review rate reports and inventory reports to provide competitive analysis to hotel partners

  • Conduct weekly competitive analysis for market, monitor fulfillment performance, and address any concerns with the partners

  • Conduct supplier evaluations and provide meaningful reporting to partners at the property level

  • Resolve content, rate, and availability issues, secure additional inventory over high demand and compression periods, and secure value-adds and promotional offers for deals

  • Assist with the management of inventory blocks and rates to ensure accuracy of data and consistent supply

  • Evaluate market trends and competitor activity

  • Develop and share shareable success stories with other Market Managers and sales teams to help optimize market competitiveness

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2+ years sales, account management, or revenue management experience, hospitality industry experience preferred

  • You're deeply analytical; a working knowledge of hotel revenue or inventory management preferred

  • You're able to work independently and thrive in a multi-tasked, rapidly changing environment

  • You're a self-starter

  • You have solid decision-making skills, customer-focused instincts, and sound judgment

  • You have experience establishing rapport with people in and out of an organization

  • You take an entrepreneurial approach to task management and take control and manage tasks independently

  • You have strong consultation and negotiation skills

  • You have excellent skills in Google Suite (Docs, Calendar, Sheets, Mail) and PowerPoint; experience with CRMs a plus
