Regional Sales Manager, Foodservice West is responsible for growing our business in the Foodservice Channel in the Western US.

General Functions + Responsibilities:

Sales

  • Build strong relationships with Foodservice Distributors, Operators and Brokers within the Western Region and throughout the food industry
  • Influence, lead and train assigned brokers
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plan with Specialty Sales Director & National Sales Manager for key accounts within the region
  • Research and actively seek new business in alignment with targeted sales priorities
  • Expand the business by securing new doors, added SKUs and merchandising programs
  • Ensure execution of new product launches, promotions and secondary placements
  • Collaborate with Category Insights team to bring relevant and timely data to our distributor and operator partners
  • Tone Setting: Embody the RXBAR culture and sales team values and reinforce the “RXBAR Sales Call”
  • Communicate and implement price changes when necessary
  • Prepare for and meet with customers during business reviews
  • Sell and manage to revenue and promotional trade spend budget
  • Actively participate in industry trade shows and customer shows

Planning and Strategy

  • Work with Broker partners and RXBAR’s Category Insights and Sales Planning teams to understand and manage:
    • Distribution
    • Voids
    • In-stock Levels
    • Pricing/Promotion
    • Off-Shelf & Display Compliance
  • Leverage insights from Category Insights & Sales Planning to elevate RXBAR’s presence throughout foodservice operators
  • Build a deep understanding of the distributor/operator’s business. Talk to other brands, brokers and buyers, listen to earnings calls and read articles related to the Foodservice Channel
  • Anticipate distributor/operator response to changes in RXBAR pricing and distribution
  • Proactively communicate with Sales Planning team to stay ahead of programs that create executional challenges
  • Prioritize key accounts for new item launches in collaboration with Director of Sales and Sales Planning team

Cross Functional

  • Leverage Category Insights, Supply Chain & Sales Support Team to forecast as accurately as possible
  • Work with Marketing, Supply Chain & Sales Planning to develop, plan and execute display programs within the channel
  • Collaborate with Sales Support & Category Insights team to identify trends and opportunities for brand development within the Foodservice Channel
  • Communicate with Category Insights team about important, needle moving programs so they can provide post event analysis
  • Provide thoughtful insight into pricing structure within the region
  • Identify and communicate merchandising and shopper marketing programs to Sales Leadership, Sales Planning, and Marketing
  • Work with Sales and Finance teams to build an annual sales plan and review weekly updates and progress with Manager
  • Understand the competitive dynamics in the Foodservice Channel. Where can we learn from leaders and what opportunity exists to take more share?
  • Maintain excellent customer and RXBAR employee interdepartmental relationships 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • 5+ years’ experience in retail sales and merchandising in within the Foodservice Channel
  • Proven and successful sales management track record
  • Leadership skills and competencies for advancement within the company
  • Established relationships with distributor and operator customer base
  • Experience in sales and expense budgeting and management to budget
  • Broker management experience
  • Excellent communication skills with external customers, peers, supervisors, and internal supporting departments
  • Ability to travel for trade shows, sales calls, and meetings - approximately 60% of time
  • Proven integrity in life/employment and honesty in dealings with others
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Occasional and event related weekend work is required
