What will your day look like?
You will supports first mortgage and home equity loan products by servicing credit union member’s closed loans. Work involves routine difficulty in assisting with loan set up functions and file management. Resources to do the job require reliance on technical knowledge of credit union policy and procedures.
Responsibilities

- Review and validate wire funding sheets for Retail loans
- Downloads to the Mortgage Operating System if portfolio or forwards the reviewed file to the mortgage sub-servicer for Retail and Wholesale fundings
- Sets up mortgage payments (coupon, ACH, transfer) and payroll deductions for credit union employees
- Processes the checks received with the loan files and deposits as required by type and account.
- Sets up the loan file and orders the insurance verification and tax service
- Prepares the loan file for document custody
- Coordinates and pulls loan files as needed for payoffs, releases, loan sales, customer service and research issues
- Prepares and manages the daily mail and fax deliveries
- Assists with the document custody process by keeping the legal file up-to-date
- Assists with the delivery of closed loan files to an offsite location
- Ensures timely delivery of all member correspondence regarding loan and payment set up
- Review and validate proper documentation to vendor to prepare and record releases
- Runs 1st and 2nd mortgage rate change analysis (HELOC- Symitar) (1st Mortgages – FICS)
- Documents member transactions in the mortgage operating system as outlined in department procedures
- Prepares the daily requests and transactions for payoff letters and releases
- Posts payment exception items to member’s accounts as directed
- Reviews, processes and adjusts member’s accounts as needed to ensure accurate and timely postings and payments
- Tracks RE taxes for members with mortgages and pays delinquent taxes if necessary
- Collects payoffs for 1st and 2nd mortgages and ensures proper processing of checks
- Close of day and month end for FICS (1st mortgage servicing system)
- Analyze and track Loss Draft checks for members with damage to their property
- Prepare and track Rate modifications for 1st and 2nd Mortgages
- Interacts daily with title and mortgage vendors and other financial institutions
- Responds to inquiries/questions presented by members via the phone
- Researches and responds to member correspondence within the department’s required timeframes as directed
- Provides timely response to other department’s requests
Qualifications
What makes you a great fit?
You’ll be a great fit if you graduated from high school, college preferred, and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mortgage servicing, processing and/or customer service; or an equivalent combination training and experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
