We are looking for a Sales Development Representative to join a new unit on the Sales Team. You will work with some of the most innovative companies in the world, equipping them with the experience research solution they need to become more customer-centric. You thrive in prospecting and earning people’s time and attention by clearly communicating value. You love to uncover business pains and set Account Executives up to conduct effective and tailored demonstrations. You are humble enough to be receptive to coaching, training, and feedback from peers. 

This role may provide opportunities for multiple career paths, such as continuing as an individual contributor and moving into an Account Executive or Account Management role or moving into management and leading a growing New Business Development team. What you will do (let’s call them Responsibilities):

  • Generate new business through outbound prospecting (phone, email, social media and other channels) 
  • Qualify leads and advance them to the next stage in the sales process
  • Field leads from inbound marketing efforts 
  • Prioritize leads, research prospects, and position relevant product features and services to prospects in order to fulfill their business needs 
  • Research accounts in order to overcome objections that ultimately generate quality opportunities for the account executive team
  • Collaborate with account executives and the marketing department to create a positive experience for prospects and develop effective strategies to penetrate existing and new markets
  • Run discovery calls to identify customer requirements and expectations in order to make tailored recommendations 
  • Manage follow-ups with calls-to-action to build a sales pipeline
  • Exceed activity and pipeline goals on a monthly basis
  • Routinely provide feedback to sales and marketing to calibrate on lead quality and conversions
  • Develop a deep understanding of the industry and dscout use-cases that serve our customers.

What you need to have (we can call them Desired Skills and Background):

  • 1-2 years in a client-facing role 
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills 
  • Able to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment; adaptive to change
  • Track record of exceeding goals based on defined KPIs
  • A passion for building new business
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative work environment 
  • Highly motivated, disciplined, and reliable
  • Intellectually curious and always willing to learn and continuously improve

What is nice to have (let’s call them Additional Skills): 

  • Software as a Service (SaaS) experience preferred
  • 4 year bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in Salesforce, Outreach, Pipedrive or other sales management software

Note: As a result of COVID-19, the dscout team has decided to work remotely for the time being. However, we are now interviewing, hiring, and onboarding remotely for all open roles! While our office is temporarily open for teammates who feel comfortable coming in, no current or future employees will be required to come back into our office until (at least) July of 2021.
