Position Summary

The Senior Accountant, reporting initially to the CFO, will be responsible for performing the day to day accounting functions including, but not limited to, accounts payable, general ledger accounting and month end close processes. This position offers a tremendous opportunity for the ideal candidate to learn all aspects of accounting at an early stage growth company, with the potential for career growth.

Essential Functions and Duties

The following duties and responsibilities reflect the essential functions for this position but do not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time based on business needs. To be successful the Senior Accountant must:

  • Perform month end close procedures including monthly journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation
  • Process corporate accounts payable
  • Prepare client invoices and process cash application
  • Responsible for preparation of all general ledger account reconciliations
  • Assist with annual audit schedule and financial statement preparation
  • Recommend process enhancements and efficiencies around current general accounting practices and workflow
  • Assist in the development of internal controls, policies and procedures documentation
  • Performance of special projects as needed

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred, but not required
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA (or In-Progress candidate) preferred
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports
  • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently, as required
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, dependability, and ability to adapt/learn quickly in a rapidly-growing corporate environment a definite plus
  • Experience with Intacct preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge working in Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
