Department OverviewMotorola’s Software Enterprise organization is a fast paced organization at the front line of driving growth throughout Motorola Solutions. The Business Operations and Transformation team is chartered to define and drive implementation of our growth strategies across the Software Enterprise portfolio. Within Business Operations and Transformation, the Portfolio Definition Team is focused ensuring strategy alignment across the Software Enterprise portfolio as well as on strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions and competitive intelligence. To carry out their role the Portfolio Development Team works closely with all company functions including sales, CTO, corporate strategy, MSI ventures, and corporate development.
Job Description
Motorola Solutions Inc. is seeking a results-driven, business and technology- minded individual to coordinate MSI Software Enterprise (SE) Strategic Partnership initiatives. As a Sr. Consultant - Strategic Partnerships will work closely with SE leadership to identify, develop and manage an ecosystem of mutually beneficial relationships with companies that have areas of expertise that will contribute to the strategic growth of the MSI SE. The position requires high levels of strategic thinking, creativity and leadership skills and will be responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining partnership initiatives while working cross-functionally with MSI Product, Legal, Finance and Sales teams.
- Assume primary responsibility for the partnership strategy and cultivation of a partner ecosystem
Develop and groom pipeline of prospective partners
Handle inbound inquiries and facilitate exploratory calls
Perform comprehensive investigation and analysis, both commercial and technical, of new potential partnerships
Clearly define objectives and terms of mutually beneficial partnerships, including gives & gets
Understand, evaluate, document and communicate business-level risk and opportunity - spanning technical challenges, intellectual property concerns, marketing and legal considerations, and sales implications
Collaborate with MSI Leadership Team members on partnership decisions
- Execution and integration of new partnerships
Lead and/or participate in complex partnership negotiations
Track, report, and optimize the performance of partnerships, including identifying issues as they arise, assessing possible solutions, and executing those solutions
Manage executive-level contacts and regular business reviews with key partners and internal stakeholders
Develop strategies and business plans with partners and execute against metrics and milestones to drive growth and revenue
Represent partners internally and MSI externally in ongoing strategic partner discussions
Technical experience in software engineering or product management is a plus
Outstanding presentation and communication skills and the ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete plans
Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with great attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, comfort with ambiguity, and excellent interpersonal skills with an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of humor
Exceptional business acumen, not afraid to say “no”
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in partner management, business development, product management, product strategy, or management consulting
Ability to review and analyze complex contracts and familiarity with standard deal structures.
