JOIN OUR TEAM

We are searching for the perfect person to join NextCapital’s Business Development team as a Senior Business Development Manager. NextCapital’s Senior Business Development Managers identify and win enterprise opportunities with new and existing partners while also supporting channel partner intermediary distribution activities. This person must be a self-starter and problem solver, with the ability to manage and coordinate internal NextCapital Area Teams and all external stakeholders.

Success will be measured by:

  • Achieving sales targets
  • Ability to implement or follow processes to accelerate the sales cycle
  • Growing partner revenue, AUM and new business opportunities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Prospect & Partner-Facing Responsibilities:

  • Generate and nurture a robust pipeline of optimal prospects through the sales cycle
  • Cultivate relationships with influencers and decision makers
  • Identify and assess business opportunities that maximize assets and revenue
  • Deliver winning proposals and RFP responses and masterfully negotiate and renegotiate contracts / pricing
  • Efficiently mobilize and deliver all of NextCapital’s available resources & solutions
  • Support partner due diligence processes
  • Onboard new partners with a focus on maximizing adoption
  • Support intermediary distribution with channel partners
  • Keep up-to-date knowledge of the industry, competition, and NextCapital’s positioning in the marketplace
  • Research, compile, and deliver thought leadership and best practices
  • Represent the company at industry and company sponsored events
  • Incorporate value added services / practice management

Internal Responsibilities:

  • Document all activities, customer interactions, and key data points in Salesforce and other relevant systems
  • Develop business cases with detailed cost & revenue forecast for all new opportunities
  • Collaborate with and connect the dots across various departments at NextCapital
  • Support the professional development of junior team members
  • Organize and manage partner-facing documentation
  • Participate in strategic planning and product development
  • Inform delivery prioritization based on partner readiness, business opportunity, and platform strategy alignment

Requirements

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Management
  • You have 5+ years' experience in a relationship management or business development role within a technology-focused financial services organization
  • You understand the value chain of Retail Wealth management, Asset Management and/or the Defined Contribution marketplace
  • You have a successful track record of enterprise level business development and a proven ability to develop ongoing relationships that provide consistent value to clients.
  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and can multitask and prioritize efficiently
  • You understand contract structure and are comfortable managing negotiations with large enterprise firms
  • You have the capability to influence key decision makers during the sales process
  • You have excellent communication and social skills
