Department Overview
This position will be part of the Software Enterprise Presale and Business Intelligence team. The Presales Solution Architect is the technical integration expert responsible for defining and designing customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions across Motorola’s expansive public safety product portfolio that includes Next Generation 9-1-1 Call Processing and Call Routing, Computer Aided-Dispatch and Records Management, Digital Evidence Management, Intelligence-Led Public Safety, Real-Time Video and Data Analytics, Community Engagement Applications, and Land Mobile Radio.
The Sr. Solutions Demonstration Specialist will collaborate with the Sales, Engineering, and Product Teams to support the development of customer proposals nationwide, primarily focused on owning the technical architecture and strategy, interface design, engineering diagrams, equipment lists, solution acceptance test plans, risk mitigation and engineering labor models.
Job Description

This is a customer facing position that relies on solid presentation skills, experience with a wide variety of audiences and a deep knowledge of various public safety agencies. Working with both customer and internal teams requires excellent interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, communication skills, and a collaborative attitude. 

The primary duties of the role are the demonstration and presentation of our solutions to current and prospective customers. The Sr. Solutions Demonstration Specialist is primarily responsible for the demonstration of Motorola Solutions’ integrated suite of CommandCentral products whether remote or in-person.

The Sr. Solutions Demonstration Specialist, after appropriate training, is expected to configure the applications and tailor the demonstration to a customer’s requirements and scenarios. As a technical resource in the sales process, the Solutions Demonstration Consultant is expected to have hands-on experience with and an understanding of networking, hardware solutions, GIS and relational database management systems.

 

The Sr. Solutions Demonstration Specialist may also be required to assist with and conduct customer requirements analysis, contribute to and/or review Request For InformationI/Request For Proposal responses, provide internal product training, conduct educational seminars for consultants, staff trade shows and provide other product and domain experience as needed. The Solutions Demonstration Consultant is expected to be a Subject Matter Expert in their primary functional area or specialty.

The Sr. Solutions Demonstration Specialist is expected to have an understanding of the operational requirements of Public Safety Agencies including Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS; and the product features of the solutions offered by Motorola Solutions that satisfy those requirements. Understanding and familiarity with multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional, multi-discipline customer environments is required. The position also involves directly working with the account managers in a collaborative environment to identify an agency’s specific requirements and tailor product demonstrations and presentations to best sell the value proposition of Motorola products and solutions.

 

The Sr. Solutions Demonstration Specialist is expected to develop a consistent approach to demonstrations that meet customer, contract and deployment requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Seeking 4+ years of Solutions Demonstrations experience for Public Safety Industry
  • Strong knowledge of cloud applications and architecture, including migrations from on-prem to SaaS (preferably in a highly regulated industry)
  • Ability to attend trade shows and carry equipment that is 35+ pounds
  • Ability to travel frequently (50-75%)
  • Positive attitude with a can-do mentality that enables you to be creative, resourceful and deliver results

  • Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to present complex topics to buying influences as well as end users

  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • ​​This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
