Strategy Associate (remote), Zoro

Primary Function:
The Strategy Associate supports Zoro's objective of expanding the Endless Assortment to offer everything our business customers need. The associate's data-driven insights will define and guide Zoro's assortment expansion strategy.
This is an exciting new role that will gain exposure to and help define Zoro's merchandising and growth strategy. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand the MRO, B2B and ecommerce market landscape to size and prioritize Zoro's product expansion and digital merchandising opportunities
- Define and understand Zoro's target customer segments to develop a strategic roadmap for new product expansion and customer acquisition
- Integrate internal and external data and insights to form a holistic expansion strategy, including sales, market and competitive intelligence and customer insights
- Partner effectively to influence and gain insight from cross-functional partners, including business development, category management, digital merchandising and marketing
- Develop dashboards and provide ad hoc analysis to inform day-to-day merchandising and supplier management operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 2-5 years experience in management consulting or strategic planning
- Ability to translate high-level strategic questions into defined workstreams
- Strong business acumen and understanding of growth levers for Zoro's unique business model
- Analytical rigor and experience synthesizing data from multiple sources
- Ability to synthesize data and strategic considerations into clear and actionable insights
- Strong communication skills, including concise and compelling presentation of complex data
- Self-starter with the aptitude to run with autonomy
- High degree of curiosity and demonstrated aptitude for learning through a growth mindset
- Industry experience in merchandising, distribution, retail and/or ecommerce preferred
