POSITION SUMMARY:
The Account Administrator - Alternatives is responsible for performing various duties related to investment activities for alternative assets held in custody by Millennium Trust Company. Alternative assets include, but are not limited to, limited partnerships, private stock, real estate and promissory notes. Within the Alternative Asset Operations Department, there is a high degree of team work whereby each Administrator has specific responsibilities but will cross-train and rotate through a number of different operational functions. The incumbent will work closely with investment sponsors, clients and various internal departments to resolve any issues that arise. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver, resourceful, and a great communicator.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Review, process and follow-up on alternative asset purchase and re-registration confirmations, liquidation requests and exchanges
- Monitor and process activity related to specialty alternative asset classes including private stock, warrants, real estate, precious metals and annuities
- Process bankruptcy and other court-related notifications, prepare requests for asset devaluations and process monthly updates related to approved impairments
- Monitor and process activities associated with promissory note investments including preparation of correspondence with lenders and borrowers and loan extensions and conversions, allocation of loan payments and other activities in accordance with the Promissory Note Servicing Terms Agreement
- Monitor and process alternative asset corporate actions - such as stock splits, mergers, conversions and exchanges - by reviewing and processing corporate actions paperwork, evaluating the impact corporate actions have on the client's holdings, reconciling valuations between the original and new securities, and recording all related adjusting transactions to ensure that the client's account reflects the correct asset at the correct value
- Review and record alternative asset valuation updates, which includes analyzing sponsor statements and reconciling activity to the Trust Accounting System to identify and resolve differences
- Research and resolve any issues that arise in the course of these processes
- Ensure that work generated consistently adheres to Company policies and procedures and meets established service levels
- Create and maintain written operating procedures related to assigned functions
- Actively share ideas to improve department processes and efficiencies
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field experience
- 1-3 years of applicable experience
- Ability to be detail-oriented, organized and dependable
- Possess a strong aptitude for numbers and reconciliations
- Proactive and analytical, able to problem-solve and propose solutions
- Operate efficiently, with a high degree of accuracy and follow-through
- Proven ability to both prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion
- Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Operate with a high sense of responsibility and conscientiousness in delivering results
- Optimistic with a consistently positive and flexible attitude
- Demonstrated strong computer aptitude and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to maintain the highest quality of service
- Working knowledge of Trust Accounting System, IRAs and alternative assets preferred
