  • Job Description Summary

    Reporting to the SVP Strategy, Product Management, & Marketing, the Vice President, Corporate Development is responsible for overall M&A activity from market scans to pipeline management, strategic recommendations and diligence, and leadership in the execution of acquisitions that support corporate growth and profitability. This is a new position due to the Executive Leadership Team’s desire to have a focused approach to Corporate Development, with an increased level of M&A activity for the company moving forward. The VP Corporate Development will work closely with the ELT and our board.

     

    Job Duties

    • Develop a strategic and pro-active M&A function within CCC’s Corporate Strategy and Development group
    • Curate and grow a pipeline of potential deals, proactively developing ideas for growth
    • Represent CCC externally with M&A targets and related advisors / intermediaries
    • Conduct company / competitive research and translate into actionable strategic insight
    • Build investment thesis for potential acquisition targets, and organize and conduct due diligence activities to validate
    • Provide regular visibility for ELT on transaction and pipeline activity
    • Interact and partner with CCC’s board on deals and proposed deals

     

    Qualifications

    • Strong financial, analytical and valuation skills, including the ability to develop a strategic perspective for target identification and evaluation
    • Demonstrated problem-solving /decision-making skills with the ability to understand a complex product portfolio and identify inorganic pathways to growth
    • Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and independent work
    • Excellent project management and time management skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

     

    Experience requirements:

    • Ten years of post-business school experience in corporate development or M&A
    • Minimum of seven years M&A experience, preferably across a broad variety of transactions.
    • Experience building and developing an efficient M&A framework, leading analysts through deals
    • Software or Data as a product or service related experience highly preferred
    • P&C Insurance vertical related experience a plus, but not required

     

    Educational requirements:

    • MBA from a top ten business school
    • Complementary undergraduate degree from a competitive institution
