About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant with strong SaaS industry experience and a proven track record of leading ERP migration projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in building structure, creating processes, and ensuring accuracy in a fast paced, early-stage environment.
Success in this role requires more than technical skills: you must be proactive, self motivated with minimal supervision, and an excellent communicator. The Senior Accountant will regularly collaborate with colleagues across all levels, from staff to executives, translating complex accounting topics into clear, actionable insights.
Audit experience is required, and a CPA license is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Month End Close & Reporting
• Lead timely and accurate month end close processes.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting packages.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and provide clear explanations to leadership.
Revenue, Billing & Commissions
• Apply ASC 606 principles for SaaS revenue recognition.
• Oversee billing, AR, collections, and credit management.
• Calculate, review, and communicate sales commissions in alignment with compensation plans.
ERP Migration & Systems
• Lead ERP migration projects from planning through implementation and adoption.
• Ensure system integration aligns with accounting requirements.
• Partner cross functionally to guarantee data integrity and reporting accuracy.
Audit & Compliance
• Lead preparation for annual audits, ensuring accurate supporting documentation.
• Work directly with external auditors and internal stakeholders to resolve findings.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
AP & General Accounting
• Oversee vendor invoicing, payments, and expense coding.
• Ensure compliance with tax, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Cross Functional Communication & Collaboration
• Proactively build strong relationships with Sales, Operations, and Finance leadership.
• Confidently communicate with team members across all levels, including executives.
• Anticipate issues, escalate proactively, and provide practical solutions.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including SaaS and startup exposure.
• Proven experience leading an ERP migration project (required).
• Audit experience (required) public accounting or internal audit background strongly valued.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606.
• Proficiency with ERP and SaaS tools (e.g., NetSuite, Intacct, QuickBooks, Recurly, Stripe, Coupa, Ramp).
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze and interpret data.
• Self motivated, proactive, and able to deliver with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional communication skills — able to explain complex accounting concepts clearly and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
