Senior Business Analyst - Email Marketing
Email has been a core customer acquisition, loyalty, and retention channel for Groupon from Day 1, and we are now one of the largest email marketers in the world. The time has come for us to reinvent the way we engage consumers via email, and we are seeking a seasoned business analyst to help us navigate that change.
As the Senior Business Analyst for our North America email business, you will be responsible for:
Establishing Operational and Management Insights
Write efficient code to access data in Hadoop and Teradata
Build visualizations in Tableau that enable self-serve access to key metrics and insights
Distill key drivers of business performance, and summarize insights for business reviews
Track performance of key email programs, and their impact on business results
Driving Change based on Experimentation and Insights
Partner with marketing and business team members to design statistical tests that measure the effectiveness of email marketing campaigns and innovations
Measure experiment results using statistical methods and rigor
Distill learnings from experiments, and establish action plan
Providing Ad-Hoc Business Support
Conduct as-needed analyses to explain business trends and customer behavior
The ideal candidate is very strong technically, and has proven analytical skills and functional expertise in statistics through 5+ years of relevant work experience. Additional requirements include:
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or related field
MS, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred
Expert-level capabilities in SQL, HQL, and related data management / business intelligence practices
Demonstrated experience working in / with Hadoop and Tableau
Excellent oral and written communication skills,
Able to derive actionable insights from broad and deep data sets
Able to work on multiple projects, across teams, with limited guidance
Experience with email or other digital marketing channels strongly preferred
