Job Description

As the Senior Director of Human Resources Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in driving talent strategies, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness specifically supporting our Marketing, Brand, and Product Development functions. You will partner with senior stakeholders to develop and implement people-focused initiatives that enhance engagement, improve retention, and support business objectives. You will ensure HR programs and services meet the evolving needs of the organization while fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL, with our teams typically together in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and remote on Mondays and Fridays. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness, and recreation.

What you will be doing:

  • Strategic Leadership: Partner with senior stakeholders in Marketing, Brand, and Product Development to provide HR business partnering and consultative support, acting as a trusted advisor on talent and organizational strategies. Lead strategic initiatives that drive business growth and organizational effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with leaders across various functions including operational, core functions, and HR COEs to ensure cohesive and integrated HR strategies that support overall business objectives. Foster cross-functional teamwork and drive enterprise-wide HR initiatives.
  • Advanced Talent Management: Develop and execute comprehensive workforce planning, talent management, and employee engagement initiatives that align with business priorities and drive high performance. Oversee the implementation of advanced talent development programs and succession planning.
  • Organizational Design & Change Management: Manage and guide complex organizational design and change management efforts to enhance efficiency, agility, and team effectiveness within the Marketing, Brand, and Product Development functions. Lead large-scale transformation projects and organizational restructuring.
  • Enhanced Engagement & Retention: Implement innovative strategies to enhance associate engagement, reduce turnover, and strengthen retention through targeted HR initiatives tailored to the unique needs of these functions. Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to drive continuous improvement and ensure a positive employee experience.
  • HR Service Delivery Excellence: Drive HR service delivery improvements, incorporating best practices and leveraging analytics for data-driven decision-making. Ensure high standards of HR service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Leadership Talent Stewardship: Act as a steward for talent management, mentoring and developing HR teams while fostering a culture of growth, development, and inclusion. Provide coaching and leadership development to senior leaders.
  • Strategic Project Management: Lead and oversee HR projects, including learning & development programs, workforce planning, and other strategic people-focused initiatives to align with business goals.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Ensure HR programs and services meet or exceed the evolving needs of the organization, continuously improving HR processes and service levels. Drive innovation in HR practices and policies.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a leader and mentor within the HR function, guiding HRBPs and collaborating with HR centers of excellence to drive strategic HR initiatives.

Qualifications

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of HR experience with a generalist background 5+ years in an advanced HR management role.
  • Track Record: Strong track record in organizational development, talent strategy, and workforce planning, preferably within Marketing, Brand, and/or Product Development functions.
  • Preferred Qualifications: MBA or advanced degree; SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $150,000 USD - $264,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
