NexLP is a VC-backed startup which focuses on machine learning and artificial intelligence to solve enterprise risk. NexLP stands for Next Generation Language Processing because we leverage NLP technology like no one else in the industry. Our product, Story Engine, is used by law firms and corporations to find the stories in their lawsuits, internal investigations and insider threats. As a Senior Front End Developer, you will undertake a leadership role in crafting the vision of our product. You will be responsible for designing and developing the front end of a next generation machine learning system, re-imagined from the ground up. You will use your knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and supporting libraries to write, test and deploy enhancements to our software. You will be responsible for establishing creative solutions and crafting compelling user experiences. You will work with the back-end team to take features from concept to design completion, seeing them through the entire development process. As we are a startup, you should strive to continue developing and enhancing our software and be flexible to working within a growing company.

Responsibilities

• Be a thought leader in building a beautiful UI layer for our product
• Develop front end screens with a constant eye on consistency, flexibility, and usability
• Create clickable prototypes to express design and user experience ideas
• Manage styles and style guides
• Assist with new design mock-ups focusing on client usability
• Play a major role in on-going delivery initiatives
• Actively participating in our SCRUM process

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related fields, GPA 3.0 and above
• 7-10 years’ experience in web development
• Extensive experience developing with JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks like jQuery, Angular, Aurelia
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC and Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with D3.js and HTML5 canvas development as well as integrating with third party charting libraries
• Deep awareness in of es5, es6, HTML5, CSS3
• Experience developing responsive applications
• An impeccable eye for detail with the ability to match your UI to any design in a cross-browser environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an affinity for problem-solving
• Ability to self-manage during projects and proactively raise issues/concerns to the team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Java development experience
• Experience with NOSQL databases like Cassandra, Elastic Search
• Professional experience with, or education in, Data Mining, Data Science and Text Analytics
