Job Description:

Vivid Seats is looking for a front end engineer to help define and implement the front end technology strategy. As an engineer on our web team, you’ll help set the direction for Vivid Seats evolving, scaling, high traffic marketplace and our UI capabilities. 

This role will be part of a team responsible for product ownership of UI and Web, but also plays a large role working with business stakeholders to define features that deliver value and an exceptional experience for our customers.  You’ll work with a team of engineers to refactor and update our code, setting a site wide standard UI and UX. Your work will reach a large audience, with over 100 million visitors over the last year.

If you are an expert at web technologies, skilled in architecting modern web applications, and passionate about front-end design patterns, this position is for you.

Responsibilities:

• Drive and contribute to new features from inception to production, working across the company with product managers, UX designers and other stakeholders
• Create rich, compelling user interfaces using Javascript, HTML, and CSS
• Explore and implement the latest in client-side technologies, including modern Single Page Application frameworks
• Identify and advocate the use of best tools, libraries, and processes for client side development
• Participate in an agile development process
• Pair with product managers, designers, front & back-end developers, fans and customers to deliver experiences that engage and delight

Desired Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years of experience developing highly available web and UI applications with state of the art front end web technologies (such as React, Angular, Backbone, Node, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of raw JavaScript (ES5 / ES6), CSS3, and HTML5
• Experience with common web application security concerns and how to prevent and fix exploits (XSS/clickjacking)
• Keen ability for debugging JavaScript and CSS
• Passion for usability and user experience
• Integrated front-end applications with various types of APIs
• Working knowledge of Javascript (including AJAX, DOM manipulations, JSONP, event models etc.
• Familiarity with agile development cycles & rapid prototyping
• A creative and organized developer who thrives in both an independent and small team environment
• A strong passion for progressive user experience and web development
