JOB DESCRIPTION
UL is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the Solar Asset and Performance Assessment Team.
This role is responsible for the completion of high-quality renewable energy analysis work with a focus on operational solar assets.
The Project Engineer will be involved in the analysis of operational solar assets; it involves working across a full range of disciplines from solar photovoltaics, data science, atmospheric science, and computer science.
This is a full-time position located in North America.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete and deliver operational energy analysis
  • Complete and deliver solar performance analysis and assessments using UL developed internal tools and process.
  • Write/review reports and present results to customers and other interested parties
  • Understand and ensure company quality control standards are met
  • Support business development activities, including meeting with customers and presenting at conferences and collaborating on scopes of work
  • Support of software development and internal systems to ensure effective use by global teams


QUALIFICATIONS
What makes you a great fit:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or Statistics. Master's Degree is a preferred
  • 5-8 years of related experience, ideally with a background in solar energy. Product development experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience working directly with customers to develop scopes of work and to present technical results/findings
  • Thorough working knowledge of programming language(s) for use in statistics and data analysis in Python and R is highly desirable.
  • Additional experience in data analysis tools and SAS is highly desirable.
  • Ideally, proven track record of SCADA analysis of discrete event, time series, and plant performance assessment
  • Experience in management and people leadership is preferred
  • Detail orientated
  • Strong writing skills


Travel may be required up to 15-25%

  • Total Rewards: The salary range for this position is $97,000 - $130,000 and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position. All employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation. The target for this position is 10% of the base salary offered. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level. We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
