The department focuses on implementing reinsurance strategies, optimizing programs, and ensuring regulatory compliance to enhance risk management and support CNA's mission of delivering tailored insurance solutions and exceptional customer service.
The Reinsurance Services Team supports most aspects of the reinsurance life cycle. The team is viewed as departmental consultants, performing various responsibilities in a collaborative environment to support and improve areas of risk management, contract placements, administration, and underwriting.
Due to the diverse nature of work, the Senior Reinsurance Analyst role offers ample growth both personally and professionally. The individual will have the opportunity to utilize new technologies to continually enhance and improve processes, learn both basic and advanced insurance/reinsurance knowledge, and work on a highly visible team with key leaders across the organization. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Implements technology-driven solutions focused on automation and reducing risk exposure across processes.
- Supports contract administration by developing and maintaining contract reconciliations, bordereau preparation, and miscellaneous reporting.
- Assess key financial metrics of various reinsurers to determine their viability for participation in CNA's reinsurance programs.
- Pursues recovery of balances on reinsurance accounts by working with brokers, reinsureds, and reinsurers. Liaison with the collections unit to identify and resolve complex settlement issues.
- Coordinates with business units and corporate finance areas in the preparation of statutory schedules such as Schedule F and ensures compliance with SOX requirements.
- Participates in special projects and multi-departmental teams. May perform additional duties as assigned.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNAs internal and external business partners.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to negotiate and influence business partners.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or related disciplines.
- Typically, a minimum of four years of work experience, accounting or financial emphasis is preferred.
- Related insurance/reinsurance industry experience is preferred.
