Our “Data-to-Dollars” playbooks and solutions are designed to augment returns during private equity investment lifecycles and span i) Infrastructure Enhancement, ii) Business Growth and Profitability Diagnostics, iii) Value Creation, and iv) Exit Prep. In each of the core solutions we leverage cutting edge tools and technology such as SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, Dataiku, DBT, and more to translate technical challenges into business value for our clients. We deliver value to clients across three teams: i) Value Creation & Analytics, ii) Data Science & AI, and iii) Software Engineering.

Job Summary
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead to join our vibrant and innovative team at Teragonia. In this pivotal role, you will work across a diverse range of technology domains applicable to web application development. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial part in designing, building, optimizing, securing, and operating scalable and user-friendly applications that drive the success of our business.

Responsibilities
- Lead geographically distributed teams of developers in software development projects, including performing project management duties and reporting to executive stakeholders.
- Gather requirements from customers & executive stakeholders.
- Architect microservices-based full-stack applications, including frontend, backend, database, and cross-service components.
- Align projects with strategic roadmaps & target timelines.
- Oversee application testing & rollout, focusing on the post-conception phase through to post-launch.
- Set & enforce high standards of software design, coding standards, and best practices.
- Write automated unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and functionality.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in full-stack development.
- Mentor junior developers.
- Help handle highly exceptional incidents (loss of availability, security, etc.) during off-hours, although this is an infrequent, as-needed responsibility.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed from time to time due to the nature of Teragonia being a startup.
Requirements
Necessary Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
- Ability to begin work at 8 AM, in addition to being available for occasional meetings in early morning or late evening to collaborate with staff in remote time zones.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript & Python.
- Proficiency in architecture & development of microservices-based applications on Kubernetes.
- Experience with Node.js, Postgres, and communications protocols such as gRPC/REST.
- Experience in SaaS operations, such as database migrations, upgrades, and rolling deployments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Google Cloud
- Interest & aptitude in generative AI applications.
- Experience working with frontend frameworks.

Flexible Work Policy
For this role, we are looking for candidates living in, or willing to relocate to, within commutable distance of the Chicago metropolitan area. We will reimburse your reasonable relocation expenses.
We expect your presence in the office (located in the Fulton Market area of Chicago) based on business or team needs or team-building activities that are most productive in person. We do not impose specific days for in-office attendance.
