Job Summary
The Senior Engineer has expertise in designing and implementing backend systems and APIs, including infrastructure, methodology, process, and tool stack. In this role, you will also help design and develop various microservices by leveraging domain-driven design architectural principles. You will build event streaming use cases using Java and Apache Kafka and persistence tiers using SQL and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.

What You’ll Do
- Design and implement efficient code that meets business requirements while adhering to compliance and security standards.
- Build reusable modules and libraries to improve code reusability and maintainability.
- Hands-on development of enterprise applications 80% of the time.
- Responsible for the stability and scalability of the PatientPoint content platform. This encompasses core business services and platform-agnostic (mobile and web) APIs.
- Develop solutions following established technical design, application development standards, and quality processes.
- Increase teams’ technical ability and drive measurable code quality improvement.
- Improve the accuracy of development schedules and lower project risk.
- Collaborate with team members on design and code reviews.
- Mentor Junior Individual Contributors
What We Need
- 6+ years of Java experience
- 4+ years' experience in a back-end software engineering role developing enterprise applications.
- 4+ years creating APIs as products with web services and RESTful protocols.
- 3+ years’ experience developing a microservices architecture.
- 3+ years’ experience creating could-based solutions with AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud.
- Expert proficiency in Java is required. Minimum Java 11 required.
- Expert proficiency in Spring Framework, including Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Data
- Solid experience in using design patterns to implement solutions for common business problems.
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, along with ORM frameworks.
- Experience with Kafka or other streaming technologies is highly desired.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field/work experience
- Experience with event-driven architectures is highly desirable.
- Cloud-based security principles and protocols include OAuth2, JWT, encryption, hashing data, secret management, etc.
- Experience with containerization/orchestration technologies, such as Docker, Elastic Container Service (ECS), Kubernetes, etc.
- Experience deploying and integrating with AWS Cloud-based solutions.
