About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to produce scalable software solutions within the Workplace engineering team. You will be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As an engineer, you should be comfortable with back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. You should have solid software engineering experience in building commercial-grade web-based applications and scalable cloud-centric APIs (Applications and programming interfaces). A successful candidate will be able to play an active role in managing the prioritization of work to meet project goals. The position is based in our Chicago office.
Job Responsibilities

  • Work with development teams and product managers to build software
  • Design & develop client-side and server-side architecture
  • Write scalable APIs using Java based technologies (Java 8+, Java Spring Boot)
  • Develop software with the focus on security, availability, and scalability
  • Write technical documentation


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a full-stack developer or similar role
  • 5-7 years' experience in back-end languages (Java)
  • Familiarity with any databases technologies - Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL
  • Experience in AWS (Amazon Web Services) based environment building serverless applications is a plus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience within the financial services industry is desirable
