Luma's mission is to build multimodal AI to expand human imagination and capabilities. We believe that multimodality is critical for intelligence. To go beyond language models and build more aware, capable and useful systems, the next step function change will come from vision. So we are working on training and scaling up multimodal foundation models for systems that can see and understand, show and explain, and eventually interact with our world to effect change.
This is a rare opportunity for a pioneering Social Media Manager to define a new medium and place Luma's frontier AI technology at the heart of the global creative ecosystem. You will be instrumental in crafting the story that launches a global movement, transforming our technological marvel into the indispensable tool for the world's leading creators.
This is a 0-to-1 opportunity to build, not maintain. You will:
- Craft and execute a market-making social media strategy that introduces Luma's foundational multimodal AI to a global audience and creates an entirely new market category.
- Build our social presence from the ground up, owning content creation, video editing, and copywriting across key platforms with impeccable taste and visual craft.
- Pioneer new content formats and engagement strategies that resonate with creative professionals and AI enthusiasts, turning ambiguity into viral moments and community growth.
- Operate with high agency and extreme ownership, driving tangible, high-impact go-to-market outcomes in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
- Collaborate closely with our Product, Engineering, and Research teams to translate complex AI concepts into magical, accessible, and shareable social content.
- 5+ years of professional experience in social media management, content creation, or brand marketing, with a proven track record of driving significant impact.
- A demonstrated "builder" with a history of creating social media engines or communities from scratch (0-to-1 experience), rather than just optimizing existing large-scale accounts.
- Exceptional aesthetic taste and an obsession with visual craft and detail, evident in a strong, opinionated public portfolio or past brand work.
- High agency and the ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, taking full ownership of end-to-end execution.
- A genuine passion for the creative potential of AI and Luma's mission to expand human imagination.
- Experience at high-growth generative AI startups (e.g., Runway, Pika, Midjourney) or leading creative software/video apps (e.g., Figma, Notion, TikTok, Adobe). We are open to exceptional talent from modern, innovative brands outside of AI.
- Demonstrated mastery of specific social platforms (e.g., X/Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) and their native content formats (short-form video, technical threads, meme culture).
- Experience in a role that required translating complex technical products into engaging, user-friendly content.
- A portfolio that showcases viral growth milestones, high engagement rates, or successful community-building initiatives.
The base pay range for this role is $141,000 – $176,000 per year.
