About the Role
Prevail is a digital therapeutics company working to increase access and reduce the stigma around mental health. Prevail is solving a problem that affects the lives of thousands. 1 in 5 adults in America experience mental illness in a given year. Through our platform we make care more accessible and affordable. We are a passionate and scrappy group doing what it takes to write some really awesome code and drive our product forward.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to develop web solutions for our suite of products. Our team is growing quickly: we are looking for senior full-stack engineers that can work in a variety of languages and are used to working in startup modes. The role allows for rapid growth for the right candidate. We are building and scaling our engineering team, and we are seeking knowledgeable leaders who like getting their hands dirty to join us during this exciting growth phase.

Responsibilities

• Full stack web dev using JavaScript (read: React) on the client and Ruby on the back-end
• Integrate internal APIs to Prevail’s native mobile apps
• Work closely with Product and Design to scope features
• Contribute to product ideation and concept development

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience with front-end tech and open source frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, jQuery, etc.)
• 1-3 year of experience with back-end tech (e.g. Ruby)
• Comfort with entire stack, from JavaScript, to Rails to PostgreSQL
• Must be able to deploy Rails apps to cloud-based machines
• Experience with unit testing: Cucumber, RSpec, etc.
• Experience with version control tools (git)
• Experience working on teams using Agile Methodologies
• Experience with DevOps is preferred
• Experience collaborating with or mentoring teammates is strongly preferred
• Experience with HIPAA and strong security practices preferred
