The Role

Intelsat US LLC seeks a Software Engineer in Chicago, IL.
Duties: Design, develop, test, debug, and document software, by providing high-quality technical solutions and services that deliver business value and drive continuous improvement across the organization. Duties include: design, develop, test, debug, and document software solutions; develop globally deployed cloud-based micro-services with high availability; utilize current software development practices and principles to identify and implement process improvements; collaborate with micro-services teams on RESTful API designs; support future scripted APIs and web socket investigations; perform IFC portal backend services development; write unit tests, monitor pipeline health, and provide on call support; debug and fix issues by analyzing data, logs, and code; and build traditional and serverless applications on an AWS Platform including EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3, SQL/NoSQL and cloud-based technologies. Telecommuting available.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires three (3) years of experience in each of the following: Systems implementation for custom web/mobile application development and commercial software systems implementations; Software development, QA, DevOps, or Cloud services; Core Java, Microservices, Rest API, Spring, Hibernate, Web sockets, Kafka, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD); HTML or HTML5; CSS or CSS3; AJAX, JSON, jQuery, and Bootstrap; Building traditional and serverless applications on an AWS Platform including EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3; SQL/NoSQL and cloud based technologies; Test management and bug management tools, including JIRA; Continuous Integration (CI) tools to align with Dev-Ops Deployment process; and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) work environments.
