Senior Financial Analyst should have an ability to apply financial acumen to understand complex business scenarios and a willingness to assume responsibility for a broad range of evolving priorities. This position requires solid communications skills and a strong analytical background.
Responsibilities:
- Become the subject matter expert on all financial items related to the Tribune Content Agency business
- Prepare schedules and financial analysis needed during monthly close process for the business
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance explanations for the business
- Process commissions and work with sales leaders on periodic sales goals
- Develop effective financial models to evaluate the impact of new initiatives
- Lead the annual operating plan process for the business, including the development of budgets, models and analyses across department and account categories
- Actively participate in project committees/task forces, as opportunities arise
- Initiate ad-hoc business analysis alerting management to relevant issues impacting the business
Qualifications:
- B.S. / B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- CPA/MBA a plus
- Strong MS Office skills
- Experience using SAP ERP, PeopleSoft Financials, Business Objects and Essbase databases a plus
- Demonstrated analytic ability, modeling acumen, strategic vision/goals-driven orientation
- Self-starter with excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to function in a self-directed work environment
