Position Description
- Responsible for defining and driving the email strategy and execution for Grainger – with the goal of maximizing key business metrics across the customer purchase and retention cycle
- Manage email campaign covering millions of subscribers, and over 150M emails (Trigger, Transactional, Promotional)
- Provide strategic thought leadership to deliver exceptional customer experiences and to deliver on the needs of key stakeholders, including the Sales department and Integrated Marketing Strategy.
- Lead integration with marketing stack and management of customer preferences
- Lead efforts to identify, test, and grow new email opportunities in email – Transactional, Promotional and Trigger
- Coordinate with agency to manage investments and performance along with day-to-day performance and communication activities
- Help maximize return on investments from campaigns by leveraging customer insights and cross-channel synergies
Lead the team of analysts and specialists to deliver excellent results as well as help them in career development
- Email Channel Responsibility:
- Responsible for planned email revenue
- Responsible for all online email activities employed to maximize key business metrics across the customer purchase and retention cycleSupport expansion of email tactics and campaigns across all business segments, Brand team and supplier teams
- Responsible for driving the revenue and spend plans for email programs around Trigger, Transaction and Promo
- Responsible for email schedule
- Financial planning and stewardship including development of annual and quarterly financial forecasts, monthly pacing, billing and accruals for $1.5M+ investment
- Management of methodology and measurement of incremental revenue through partnership with internal and external analytics / performance optimization teams including attribution and cross-platform to accurately capture returns
- Manage external vendor relationships, grow and optimize existing program
- Conduct on-going audits / pilots with new vendors and solutions / technologies to optimize email investments
- Ensure we have the best ESP platform for our needs and we are utilizing it to the max per our own needs
- Work closely with other channel managers to leverage synergies and drive maximum online and offline impact
- Create and manage reporting for email programs
- Work with legal and data security teams to align campaigns with privacy policy and mitigate risk
- Become more efficient with budgets by shifting workload to more economical resources

Position Requirements:
- 8+ years of direct experience in B2B/ B2C marketing
- 2+ years of managing email campaigns; mobile email a plus
- Experience actively managing a team of direct reports
- Experience with one or more of the following: Responsys, Exact Target, Adobe Campaign, Eloqua,
- Strong working knowledge of the technical underpinnings of today’s email marketplace
- Experience in Marketing Strategy/ cross channel branding efforts
- Experience building Trigger, Transactional and Promo campaigns at scale
- Experience negotiating, purchasing and managing ESP contracts
- Excellent creative, client services, and communication skills and ability to present to various teams with different levels of online exposure
- Strong strategic vision as well as attention to detail and project management
- Proven ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams & brands, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines
- Bachelors in Marketing, Management or related disciplines; Masters a Plus
