Overview
As the Tempo Strategic Planner, you will play a key role in optimizing our Ready-To-Heat production processes by enhancing production planning methods and developing tools to streamline operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that production plans are efficiently executed, and any deviations from the plan are promptly identified and addressed.
Responsibilities
Production Planning:
- Analyze current production planning procedures and identify areas for improvement
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production schedules, resource utilization, and inventory management
- Create weekly and daily plans for slacking, prepping, cooking, and assembling and monitor progress throughout the week
- Work with Procurement to optimize delivery cadence in order to maximize freshness and minimize waste.
Plan Adherence:
- Track and action against reasons for deviations from plan in order to improve the plan adherence KPI
Data Review and Error Prevention:
- Review Compound Ingredient and Assembly production sheets prior to each cook week in order to identify any data or ingredient errors that could cause downtime in production
- Work cross-functionally to implement long-term solves that will prevent recurring errors
Menu Changes:
- Review any ingredient or meal changes happening on live menus in order and assess the impact to the operation and ensure all changes are operationally feasible
- Communicate to the appropriate stakeholders when a live change will require action
- Participate in improving the communication and process flow
This position requires 20% travel
Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in a production environment
- Completion of a two-year program such as an Associate degree
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Strong prioritization and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills, with experience creating buy in with a range of stakeholders such as hourly employees, customers, suppliers, and executives
- Proactive in identifying problems and finding innovative solutions
- Ability to understand the big picture as well as exceptional attention to detail
- Skilled at dealing with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience spearheading execution on large-scale, high-impact projects
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Salary Range: $78,000 - $83,000

What We Do

In 2018 Home Chef finalized a merger with The Kroger Co. to accelerate the availability of meal kits and position the combined company to lead the way in revolutionizing how families shop for, prep and cook their meals. By late 2019, Home Chef had expanded its retail footprint to more than 2,500 Kroger grocery stores across the U.S.
