About the Role
Creative Services is looking for a writer with a passion for creating powerful copy that inspires action. You have a deep understanding of content that converts, experience crafting smart headlines that drive clicks, and love optimizing content based on data and insights.
You don't just have your eye on the bottom line-you're also a conceptual thinker and storyteller, able to translate complex offerings into simple, compelling ideas. You are customer-obsessed and able to translate persona and audience strategies into content that moves our targets through the funnel.
This role is located in our Chicago office, which offers a hybrid work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with campaign management and product marketing to understand the target audience and how our offerings help address their needs and pain points.
- Collaborate with marketers, channel strategists, data analysts, and other creatives to develop campaigns that support business objectives.
- Write powerful copy for email, social media campaigns, ads, landing pages, and other marketing assets.
- Apply data and insights to inform demand generation messaging and optimize results.
- Take complex business language and distill it into clear, simple language that customers will understand and connect with.
- Interview Morningstar customers and write case studies that drive demand.
- Work cross-functionally to produce compelling storytelling content, anchored in business outcomes, across written, audio, and visual/interactive media.
Qualifications
You must submit a portfolio link to be considered for this position. Other qualifications:
- 3-5 years of copywriting experience, including email lead nurture, digital advertising, social media, webpage copy, and case studies.
- Knowledge of on-page SEO principles and tactics.
- Familiarity with AP Style and copy-editing best practices.
- Experience in B2B marketing, with a strong background in understanding brand voice, target personas, and stages of the marketing funnel.
- Familiarity with quantitative practices, like A/B testing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, virtual environment managing multiple stakeholders, projects, and priorities.
- Excellent oral/written presentation skills; proficiency in preparation and presentation of creative work.
- A collaborative spirit.
- Bachelor's degree in writing, English, journalism, marketing, or communications preferred.
